On Chanukah we commemorate the victory of the Jews over their enemies. So, it is especially meaningful to kindle a menorah that carries the Star of David emblem, symbol of the People of Israel in the Land of Israel. The Star is incorporated at the top of the stem from which emerge the traditional cuving branches.
